Not sure what would be Automatic about it? Manual focus, of course. FD mount as already stated. FD mount has been basically abandoned by Canon in favor of the "new" EF mount. You could toss it up on eBay and probably get a few bucks for it. Canon branded lenses like this are going for around 50 bucks, Sigmas around 40. Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here

anthonyhong Member 104 posts Joined Sep 2006 More info | Oct 08, 2006 22:27 | #6 Yeah you wont be able to do much with it... you *could* get an adaptor to use the FD lens on a EF body, but these all come with crappy glass which really kills the quality... I fell victim to this :*(.

I forgot who sold the Kalimar brand (Sears, maybe?). You could use it on the Rebel via an adapter, but believe me, it's just not worth it. I tried myself as I have an extensive FD lens collection including a 50mm f/1.2L - and even that sucked. La Vida Leica!

It will help you focus more on your technique since you won't be able to fire off half a dozen shots just letting the camera pick all the settings. When you have to pick your subject carefully, then achieve the perfect focus manually, you will put more thought into your shots. Anything that helps you develop your skills will be a good thing!
