Blue-headed Vireo

Finally I got some shots of this beautiful vireo. These guys were everywhere today. And much closer than normal. I was so happy as I think they are one of the prettiest songbirds. Shooting conditions were tough as the foliage was pretty dense for the most part, but here's are some:

Unfortunately his tail was cut, this was full frame, he was right on top of me, eating some insects.

yes, too bad about the cut in the last one....although still a great shot...and the others more than make up for it. incredible snaps :D

I got my first look at a few of these little birds a couple weeks ago but didn't manage to get any shots even close to the quality of the ones here. Well done!

What a beautiful bird the Blue-headed Vireo is and nicely captured Bob.
The first two in particular are quite superb, well done.

very nice shots. however, it might be because of my uncalibrated monitor, but I see no blue on that bird :lol:

Thanks everyone. Winkie: the head is bluish-gray. In the right light you can notice it more.
