Singapore 400d?

hi all,

I'll be in singapore in January, I'll be in the market for a 400d, if I can get a 400d fairly cheap in Singapore do you think I should?

Will I still get a warrenty?

Will the model be different as I've bought abroad?

Yes, Singapore will be much cheaper, if you can, just get it there and you should get international warranty as well, so it's no problem.
The model name might be slightly different, my friend's 400D called Kiss XT there.

Go to Sim Lim Square. It's a rather big blue glass building paced with electronics (theres a picture provided with the wikipedia link). The most known proshops in Singapore are Kataya, and Alan photo from what i remember (correct me if I'm wrong). They encourage your to mail in advance agree on prices etc. but don't do that. Just go there and bargain. The samaller shops are generally cheaper but a bit more of a hassle. If you do not get a worldwide guarantee you can get it "converted" at the Canon showroom situated near the harbourfront close to the Sentosa Island cablecar. It's very easy, just hire a taxi and go there. And remember to include the tax refund you get when leaving singapore in your total savings on the camera.

don't mean to Hi-Jack this thread but I wanted more information about purchasing in Asia.

Shopping in Japan for lenses was definately expensive and that there was not much to find in the Phillippines, what other Asian countries other than Singapore is a good place to shop.
