Hey All,

Took a "Sunday Drive" yesterday up the coast into Big Sur. It's an absolutely beautiful drive and a landscaper's paradise - provided the sun cooperates! :D Enjoy!

Thanks! It is really beautiful. I'd shoot for awhile, then just sit on a rock and suck it all in. Almost didn't want to come back!

You're going to love it! Are you driving from the north or from the south?

Driving up from the South. Leaving LA and driving to Santa Cruz for the night, then off to SF the next day... Hope the weather is as good as your photos show.

It can be gloomy in the morning, but the marine layer burns typically burns off after about 12 or so. I came up from the south also. I hoped to have had more clouds in the sky for my trip, but it's almost always a beautiful day here! To me, the light is best mid to late afternoon, the terrain features are lit best by that angle of light.

Enjoy your trip!!

Great pics! I have an almost identical pic of Bixby Bridge (I think that's what it's called?) from when I was out there on holiday last month. Sadly, the weather was cloudy and foggy so didn't get the same lovely colours and views.
Ah well....it's a good excuse to go back some time! :D

Thanks! I'd agree, bad weather is definitely an excuse to come back again. I was kind of worried about the weather at first, but the sun cooked off the light fog and marine layer pretty good. A really cool fog rolled in while I was at Bixby, but the photos didn't turn out quite like I wanted, so they didn't make it to the gallery. Still a great trip though!
