Its just time to say goodbuy to my beloved 1D mkII n , its on ebay (external link) and so is my other loved item , the 200 L mkII 2.8 (external link) , one of my sharpest lenses.
I desided to spend alot more time in landscape photography as its the subject i really love , tried other things (birds/animals),lovely to say the least but like landscape they are not.
So , lots of my equipment will have to go , keep an eye in the [Sell forum].

Anyway , time to post pictures.
These 2 are from my last shoot with the 1D.
As always C&C very welcome and as usual....click the image for larger version.

Allt nan giubhas waterfall

Allt is for a small river / burn , this one starts at around 2500 feet and it rests for a bit at that small waterfall....

Ah Poor Dimtri :(

You've made the right decision buddy, me personally I hate selling stuff, I'm a whore-der

For some reason I broke this mould with camera gear, in order to upgrade you've got to get rid of the gear you don't need/use.

It's bad news for us newbies that your gonna be concerntrating on landscapes, you already blow us out the water with your work

Good luck with the sales D, are you buying a van with the proceeds ?

See you next Sunday, and remember your magic wand for the weather ;)

I`m thinking of buying either the Mamyia ZD medium format or the new Pentax MF (whenever it comes out).
I`ll try to remember the wand buddy.;)

Lovely scenes as usual Dimitri. I find the first very calming. Thanks for sharing.

I love the colorful rocks in the first one. By the way, if you're having a hard time selling the 200, I'd be happy to take it as a donation so I can giving birding a try. :-P

Both are beautiful Dimitri but, if I try really hard, I can find something to critique on the first. If I had my wish, I'd ask to see the remainder of the black stone at the top of the frame where the fall splits.
The second is fantastic to me. I love how you have the water coming into the frame as opposed to going out. Wonderful!

PS: You with a MF camera is something we'll look forward to. Best wishes on that.

Wouldn't take a dive from the top of those falls...
With the shallow water and the visible rocks this shot is very pleasing to look at.
I like the vastness of the second shot Dimitri and the water just below in the FG gives it that much more perspective. Very nice indeed

Dimitri, these have the color, detail and interesting composition that characterize all your shots. Hate to see you part with the n and 200L, but know you'll enjoy the medium format. What size images...22 mpx?

Great shots Dimitri. To be honest you have the 5D and my personal opinion is it is hard to beat, many users would agree I think. But yes I agree you need to improve your landscape shots :o :) Yeh right!

I could do with a 70-300 IS tho.... :) or a 400 mm lens for Africa ;)

Always difficult to let go of kit, isn't it? Still, I'm sure you're doing the right thing.
Lovely images, Dimitri. :D

Thats very true, beyond that i would only go for the 1ds II but yet again, you have smaler photodiods.
The only way after the 5d IMO is MF.

But yes I agree you need to improve your landscape shots :o :) Yeh right!

You know as well as me Neil that humans are never happy.
No seriously,i`m not bad on landscapes but when you see pictures of other photographers, you think to your self....oh yes, there`s lots and lots of room for improvement.

I could do with a 70-300 IS tho.... :) or a 400 mm lens for Africa ;)

Really? thats my next move,to sell these two,i`ve sent you a PM.

Dimitri, The mamiya ZD is having loads of teething problems (a bit like the ill fated Kodak DSLR's), I'd wait a while before buying one of those. (but I'm sure you are aware of this).

Interesting to hear you're going MF Dimitri as I had thought you were only selling the 1D to save on weight. Good luck with your sale, and see you in a week or so.
