The initial reviews of the Mamiya cam were pretty cold. I hope to goodness once i get used to the 5D, as I did with the 350D, I dont start needing a 1ds mkII....or more :|

Beautiful images. It is better to be a master of one thing than mediocure at all things. So, the passion is landscape. :) I have yet narrowed my focus. So, does Dante know you are selling the 200mm 1.8? Man I would buy it if I had the money...

Dimitri, The mamiya ZD is having loads of teething problems (a bit like the ill fated Kodak DSLR's), I'd wait a while before buying one of those. (but I'm sure you are aware of this).

Yes i know Les,i also know that Mamyia sold their optical division to another company.
Just thinking of keeping the 5D just now and stay put until further developments of MF.
Pentax is coming up with something,we`ll see.

Lovely scenes as usual Dimitri. I find the first very calming. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers Reigh.

I love the colorful rocks in the first one. By the way, if you're having a hard time selling the 200, I'd be happy to take it as a donation so I can giving birding a try.

Not a problem Jim,i`ll let you know buddy.

Both are beautiful Dimitri but, if I try really hard, I can find something to critique on the first. If I had my wish, I'd ask to see the remainder of the black stone at the top of the frame where the fall splits.
The second is fantastic to me. I love how you have the water coming into the frame as opposed to going out. Wonderful!

PS: You with a MF camera is something we'll look forward to. Best wishes on that.

If you had a wish eh Robert? the reason i left it out is because of the apearance of a very dull sky that would ruin the upper part of the picture my friend.;)
Me with a MF camera eh? that would be a site to be seen...

Wouldn't take a dive from the top of those falls...
With the shallow water and the visible rocks this shot is very pleasing to look at.
I like the vastness of the second shot Dimitri and the water just below in the FG gives it that much more perspective. Very nice indeed

From that point it falls a few hundred feet down to a slop Frank, quite a site to view as you are going up.

Dimitri, these have the color, detail and interesting composition that characterize all your shots. Hate to see you part with the n and 200L, but know you'll enjoy the medium format. What size images...22 mpx?

Yea,i`ve had some great pictures in the past with that 200L Stan,it has to go though.
22mp , yes , or the upcoming pentax , 16mp.
I`m not after a larget sensor for the mp Stan , just for the size of it and the size of mirror/viewfinder also.

Good shots Dimitri, and sorry to hear about your "loss"
What were the settings for these pics?

I`ll give you the links Adam...

Always difficult to let go of kit, isn't it? Still, I'm sure you're doing the right thing.
Lovely images, Dimitri.

As another member said Trevor...It is better to be a master of one thing than mediocure at all things.

Interesting to hear you're going MF Dimitri as I had thought you were only selling the 1D to save on weight. Good luck with your sale, and see you in a week or so.

Oh no John,i got the 5D for that, the 1D is a star but for what i want to do (concentrate on landscape and landscape only),there is no need to have all this gear collecting dust.

I don`t think i would go to the 1ds from the 5d Neil,i don`t see the point unless you need the extra printing detail, they are both FF and if you ask me,i would prefer the 5D because of the larger diods.

Very very true words.
No,its not the 200 L 1.8 , its the 200 L 2.8.

Well, if I had a wish for that picture anyway. ;) I figured that there had to be a good reason and, sure enough, there was.
