Canon Authorized Retailers for rebates

The upcoming October 15th rebate offering requires that the products be purchased from "an authorized Canon U.S.A. dealer or reseller". From the Canon website, you can only find retailers from a storefront location. Anyone know where there is a listing of authorized web retailers/resellers? Digging through the websites to look up the addresses seems a pain (even though many of them are in NYC!) A USA warranty is no guarantee of them being an authorized reseller, is it?

I emailed them a while back and they responded with this:

1. www.bhphotovideo.com (external link)

2. www.amazon.com (external link) (online stores with store fronts only)

3. www.cdw.com (external link)

4. www.ritzcamera.com (external link)

5. www.dell.com (external link)

6. www.jr.com (external link)

7. www.officedepot.com (external link)

8. www.staples.com (external link)

9. www.bestbuy.com (external link)

10. www.officemax.com (external link)

11. www.compusa.com (external link)

12. www.costco.com (external link)

13. www.adorama.com (external link)

14. focuscamera.com (external link)

15. www.walmart.com (external link)

Of course this list doesn't include all authorized retailers but still useful. Hope it helps.

Beach camera, B&H, 47th ST.
why don't you go to pricegrabber, look up the camera and then go to their site and check.
If they offer USA warranty, then they should be a dealer, also they often state it if they are.

I would imagine that any place that is offering rebates that also has online shopping will honor the rebates. Maybe I am wrong.

The rebate gets honored by Canon's third-party processor, not the store (it's not a discount). I got nervous when I went to some sites that indicate USA warranty (e.g., 17th St. Photo) but do NOT explicitly say they are authorized retailers. People have advised to STRICTLY honor the terms and conditions of the rebate program if you ever want to see the money, and at $290 for a 30d and 70-200/2.8, I want to make sure!!!

You will be fine with any online purchase from a reputable vendor. Make sure and keep copies of all of your paperwork. You can also pre-qualify/register online, but you still need to mail in hard copies of everything. Registering online will at least give you a link you can go to in order to check on the status of your rebate.

I think 17th st. photo is one of those scam sites.
Pricegrabber almost always have reputable dealers, so I'd stick with one of those well respected companies.

17th St. Photo is an authorized dealer. I bought mostly EVERYTHING I own, from them, and the rebates were honored. Just that 17th Photo does not have a large store, like B&H. The 17th store is inside a building, on the third floor. Seems very sketchy, when you go there, but, their store is clean, and neat, and small. They carry everything that B&H does, in terms of photography...but don't carry the large overhead that B&H does. Also, 17th st. photo just deals with photo. equip. and not other electronics, like B&H. Trust me, I have dealt with them a lot...and have always gotten cash discounts, when walking in there. And no, I have no affiliation towards them...just a happy customer. And they take care of me...for the most part. Don't hesitate to buy from them.

I got my 350D from Newegg.com....The service was absolutely fantastic, and It shipped very very fast. Canon honored my rebate as well.

Good to know that Newegg is a good candidate. They have a decent price, and if their receipts are ccepted by Canon, then they might be the way to go, at least for me...otherwise, I gotta deal with other issues.

I highly recommend www.onecall.com (external link) Pre-order both the 10D and 20D from them when each model first hit the market and received both earlier then promised. Excellent customer service which included receiving follow-up calls approximaitly t wo week after I received each camera to check if I had any issues or problems.
