OK smart guy, wanna join the invitational here as the third contestant ?
One condition only......gotta shoot with your 500 mm prime.
    Mwuahahahahah. (Whispering to miself: "Gawd, what a plan, what a plan, now I just need to find two more.......the 400 f/2.8 and the 600 f/4, so that I can whip all four Canon's fat white fluorite arses in one swoop")

Oh this just gets better and better!!! You definitely should find takers for these other lenses

Permagin....your innocence shows up again. Remember, we are talking handheld shooting. Wading thru marsh with one of those lenses poised in your hands ?  Yeah, I think we have to agree on in-flight shots only.....yup, that's it.

So when one of those big lenses tumbles in the marsh, as you fall while your eyes are focused on that in-flight duck-o, would you call that innocence lost?

I agree with condyk, "....Or, the L addict needs to remember that foreplay can be just as pleasant as the climax of pressing the B&H buy button!"

I'm thoroughly enjoying this!

Yes, straight outta Milton.
If you enjoy "this", then you must be even more of a sadist than MD Jak.

Apropos S&M, why not use the 135SF lens ? Sufficient FL reach, sufficiently sharp.....

Pektal, how about borrowing a cheap telephoto, or better yet, something like a cheap super telephoto? It'de be fun to blow them away with thier own focal length, except with a lens that costs 1/5 of what theirs does :D.

(YGPM btw.)

Soft Focus would be a good choice, but maybe you should consider the Lens Baby?

Seriously, I'd say it's a consideration...Permagin also suggested it. Again, I'd have to borrow it or buy it for the purpose. ;)

What about beating Dante with some really pericular lens you don't see around here often, like the Canon 55-200mm? I used one for about a week before. It's not very popular and it's very cheap.

Lordy, Lordy......your "take-no-prisoners" training shows.
I don't wanna kill the boy, I just wanna maim him, make him limp, if you know what I'm saying.;)

Well then. A good crack in the knee caps with a pipe wrench would do the trick. ;)

Actually, I think Petkal is aiming a little bit higher than the knee. About the length of a thigh up. That's evil. :p

(see below for explanation)
