PowerShot A640... Where is purple color??

Hello everybody.
This is my first post. Great to find this forum
I just bought My PS A640 with 10.0 MP. It's very nice camera, but I have 2 problem. First one is I'm noob on cameras The second problem when I shot to the car light cutoff It dosen't show me the real color, why??
F.Ex. I'll post two pics for my car light cutoff you will notice the blue color, but in real it's blue with more purple. Why the camera showing the blue color but not the purple??

I dont know much about it but if you google words such as Purple Fringing and Chromatic Aberration - it may help you understand whats going on . Sorry i cant help personally but i dont know enough about it ...

Did you white balance properly?
I assume that a manual white balance can be achieved on your cam, so white balance off the white wall shown in the pic with your car lights on.
That may help.
Also, purposely shoot something that is only purple and see what results you get.

I think you are probably seeing a color space problem (well, maybe not a problem, just some limitations). Most compact cameras record the files in jpg 8 bit and use sRGB color space. As far as i know DSLR dont suffer from this problem cause they use RAW files that do not contain any particular color space 'cause the color space is assigned at post processing.

Almost certainly. The color spectrum from halogen head lights is unlike sunlight or tungsten light bulbs. Balancing the camera's color first, using halogen light, will probably help a lot.

I think it's a fairly well documented thing that on the A6X0, purple shows up more blue than it should. I forget why. I think I read about it on the dpreview.com forums, and I've experienced it myself (A620). If you really want the purple back, you have to tweak it in Photoshop.

I have been researching this problem and found a website that claims that it is a design characteristic of digital cameras. Follow this link http://www.tribecalabs​.com/dcf.html and have your camera ready (flash off) to take a picture of your computer screen while you read all about it. Of course, the website will offer you software for $49 that will fix it for you. That leaves me with the question, if it can be fixed with software, why doesn't the camera do it in the first place?
