Hi everyone, I just picked up a new monitor tonight and the difference in what I was seeing on my old monitor and this new one is amazing. This leads me to wonder how my photos will look on other PCs and in the prints. On my new monitor the colors are eye-popping and crisp as well as super bright.... I am just not sure if that's because the settings need to be toned down or if this is really how my images look to others.

Please let me know what you see regarding brightness, color sharpness etc. These were taken a small ren fair in Illinois over the weekend. My family is posing with a very nice gentleman and the other is one of the wandering minstrels.

I am not positive if i am responding correctly to your question but:

The pictures seem to be just fine on my Computer. They are NOT too bright at all. # 1 is a bit soft overall and dark; # 2 is a lot sharper but still doesn't seem to be EXTRA CRISP however.

-Hope that's an answer you were looking for!

P.S. ( I am on a Dell Notebook)

He still has one more move.

White balance looks good on my monitor. #1 appears a tad oversaturated and a little soft but possibly just camera shake. #2 looks just fine. Looks like a fun festival there!

Congrats...seems like your pleased with your new monitor. What kind (Make and Model) did you get. I've been looking real hard at the Samsung 971p.

I see this on a Samsung SyncMaster which is calibrated with GMB EyeOne and both snaps look great to me...colorwise. Sharpness is O.K...dunno whether I will call it crisp.

Colors looks correct on my calibrated monitors. I like the second image better. I would like it if it was sharper. The first needs some fill flash... the shadows as sorta distracting. Looks like you guys had fun. :)

Thanks for the replies everyone.....I guess I got a little carried away with describing these as "crisp" but the colors totally pop compared to my last monitor. I am glad to hear the colors look good on calibrated monitors, I just wasn't sure what to expect.

Reefbone, to answer your question, it is nothing but a Dell 17 inch flat panel that comes with a computer package. I bought it from a co-worker for $100.00 because she said she did not need the monitor that came with her new PC.

They look fine on my Dell 1905FP flat panel (w/ Radeon X600 SE video card). There are some websites where you can check the calibration of your screen by viewing the black and white patterned image (Tonal range). It's not a complete measurement (assessment) though.

They do look good on my monitor. I ran Adobe Gamma - sum total of my calibrations.

Well, except for that proof print for matching that I got from my printing outfit.
