With the S2IS (sadly), I went out looking to improve my novice skills. XTi is coming, just not here yet. The S2 suffers from a bad noise problem.

You all think any of these are good?

#4 for me, I just wish there was more of the reflections. Nice shots though.

#3 and #4 I really like.

#3 is a very nice pastoral scene. Nice balance and color.
#4 I enjoy because I really like nighttime cityscapes. The colors reflected in the water are great.

#1: While it is a good picture, it feels washed out. You may want to try to boost the contrast a bit in a photo editing application.

#2: This is a great shot, tones are smooth. I like the composition, and think it works well in B/W.

#5: The tower seems to be tilted very slightly (1° or 2°) which detracts from the image. May want to try a bit different composition than dead center on this one as well. I think the sky is well exposed and balanced with the foreground, with only the slightest hint of blown highlits on the clouds (which, imo is okay in this situation)

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I agree with #1 seeming washed out. Its the grass. I tried and tried and you just cant get a good image from it. Its not really a nice shade of green. Its kinda, field like. ANyway.

On #5, I hadnt noticed the tilt. I'll see what can be done about that. Thanks. :)

edit: Oh, and yes #2 is silos.

I like 2, 3 and 4. Although i'd quite like to see what #2 looks like flipped, so the silos are on the right.

Not sure why exactly, but i don't find 1 and 5 very interesting!?! Maybe the composition, not sure...

#2 - I don't like roads in pictures if at all possible.

#3 - horizon looks crooked and the trees in the background are too far away and the field is too empty.

#4 All the light reflection is really an eyesore/distraction. That reflection adds nothing to the shot.

#5 - Nice sky but a subject that I could do without seeing in a photo. :)
