Challenge results

I was impressed by the number of submissions this week. Thank you for taking the time to prepare for the challenge. It’s interesting to see each of different interpretation of the theme.

I must admit I have some hard times picking the top three winners from such great quality images this round! You have done well to make my job difficult. Please remember this is only my thought of your most impressive image.

MegaTrixel – “First Ice”
I have always interested to see your photo from your region. And this close-up image does not disappoint me. Where’s the salmon for the bear?

Action_Man
– “Take off”
A nice pic of “Take off” indeed. Who said G series camera can not do action shots?!? Great composition and background.

AndreyD –“Volga River”
Pretty moody silhouette shot this image has. It makes me wanting to take a day off from work to take a stroll on the river myself.

An33sh – “Against the tide”
Can you please remember to put your title in the message subject line?

Zzpza – “Bath Abbey”
A very impressive image of the abbey after-dark shot. Great exposure and composition you have achieved.

Andrewaaa5 – “ee-double-helix-morning-mountaineers-backdoor-ranky-w32-mydoom-trojan.exe”
Please explain about your title Andrew! I plug this title in my wiki encyclopedia and it gave me PC the blue screen – You’ve just infected my PC! Great capture image of light and lovely composition.

Marie
– “Walk on the wild side”
Marie, you’ve always have great and clever title for your image; this is no exception. Truly nice captured of the shadows.

Teekay – “Canyon of shadows”
Lovely textures the canyon teekay. The pic shows great depth with the boys there in the water.

Alans220 – “Road light”
One day I will finally convert my own G1 to take this sort of IR pic like you. Great angle of the tree line and awesome sky. Good shot.

3Dart – “abstract”
Great DOF shot of a close-up image. One day it’s shadow would be as large as the shadows in the background? Very thought provoking shot for me.

Stephen Martin – “Palms over water”
Breath taking scenery shot indeed. This is definitely a keeper on the wall of a clubhouse. As a golfer, I hope I won't lost too many balls in that lake.

Rpolitsr – “reaching the light”
Another great mood provoking silhouette shot from rpolitsr. Makes me wonder how deep the tunnel is. The exposure of this image is second to no one.

Gkuenning – “Untitled”
May I suggest a title like “A hard earn beer”? A dramatic capture of light and shadow from outside of the doors. It looks like the man has been working very hard for the day and therefore enjoying a nice bottle of beer.

The winners are

1st
Andrewaaa5 - “ee…”
As it has superb lighting and interesting shadow patterns. The coloured and textured wall also adds great mood to the image.

2nd

Gkuenning – “Untitled”
Although the focus of the image is a bit soft; but for me it is good enough to valid a second place for this somehow dramatic image created by light and shadow.

3rd
3Dart – “abstract”
Also may be the title for this image could be “When I grow up”? For me, the shadow and the young shoot are related. I also like the colour contrast of the image.

All I want is a 10-2000 f/0.5L with no distortion that weighs 100 grams, fits in my pocket, and costs $300. Is that too much to ask?
