Since Mitch was kind enoguh to get the 600mm f/4L IS Image Archive thread going, I thought I'd take the opportunity to jump in with starting 500mm thread.

It doesn't really have anything to do with how an Aurora works. Here is the wiki page for this phenomenon - Green Flash (external link).

All of these shots are simply stunning but the Cedar Waxwing is incredable. Boy do I want this lens....
