Well, this just about sums up the terrible weather we're having in the UK right now.
I went to Royal Naval Air Service show at Yeovilton in Somerset last Saturday and it was dark grey cloud all the time, still it was the first time I used the 500mm at an air show.

Hand-holding was the easy bit, carrying everything from the car park (600AW bag with 1DIV, 500mm and 400mm f5.6 lenses and binoculars, my lunch and a chair!) was the hard bit.

I was go to say WONDERFUL images, but then you made reference to RIAT and then, being that I cannot make it and I'm gutted, I thought, "no, don't say these are great images".

Unfortunately this doesn't change the fact that these are great images. Nor does it change the fact that I won't be at RIAT. And, besides, I'm not that childish.

Great images there. Enjoy RIAT, it's looking that it will be a great one AND now you'll have the B2 on static.

Haha:)
Pity you wont be there, looks like I'm going on the Saturday as my son and his partner have invited themselves over on Sunday for a bbq!
It may sound pathetic but my chief concern (apart from the weather) is lugging all the gear around.

QUOTED IMAGE

I like the reflection in the polished nose cone and the heat haze. Very good shot.

So blasted cool Jay! You take such awesome shots of incredibly cool subjects! I love the F-22 shot. Did you shoot it at f/22 by any chance?

Thanks...

f/22 would have been cool but I'd have needed ISO 3200 probably. It was a pretty scuzzy weekend weather wise. :(

It'd be nice to get a none hazy/sandy day to use this lens again but those days won't be for awhile. Still, I love this lens!
