This is a pretty hefty crop - but slugging this lens around at the speeds needed to get these chaps...well...it was fun.

As so often happens this thread gets away from me. I went back to look at your Waxwing shots and am I ever glad that I did. I've never seen such a young Waxwing and you captured those perfectly. Great stuff.

You're right, I've taken some people and pet shots that came out very well with the 500. The compression adds interesting backgrounds. How funny would it be to show up at a wedding with the big boy. :)
