Masterfully captured. Wonderfully sharp, great composition, lighting is lovely. Yeah, it's a beautiful shot only enhanced by the clouds/smoke.

Excellent image of the Mustang Jay, I just looked at my office wall when I saw that and realised I've got a framed poster of that plane hanging there!
For the record it was 84th Fighter Squadron, 78th Fighter Group 8th Airforce based at Duxford(Station 357) Cambridgeshire England flown by Col. John D. Landers.

Sorry about the trivia!

Here are a couple of shots from my newly used 500. These were hand held and I still getting used to heavier longs lens techniques. What do you think of the b/w, I was a little torn between them and the color versions.
