I often went out with the 500mm to shoot some birds or other animals. but often i come back home without any good shot and sometimes not satisfied because i couldnt make a good picture with this good lens...

Took this on my first trip to Africa and ended up using it for the vast majority of the shots. Most of the time with the 1.4TC on too. I loved being able to get very very close to the subjects!

All with 500 + 1.4TC III. If anyone is having doubts about how well this lens takes the new TC like I was having before I purchased it, go for it! I find that sharpness is hardly affected! AF is a bit slower but nothing too major unless light is really poor. The lion yawning was at f6.3, all others at f5.6.

Thank you for this advice. I did a lot of shots with the 2x TCIII. Performance with 2x is not so good. Because of that i sold my 2x TCIII and now buying a 1.4 TCIII. Your pictures are underlining my thoughts.

Thanks guys! Much appreciated! :)

The Maasai mara is a fabulous place, and the 500mm seemed to have been made for it.

Very nice Weja. I love how the background complements the images. Not easy to do in some cases. :)

I take it these were with the 1.4TC?
