Nice to see you managed to get "Something".. I got snookered ALL WEEKEND.
First; Saturday, somebody spooks the ever present, never affraid Great Blue Heron...There goes my chance to get one..
Next; we're so wrapped up in getting shots of "Something"; we end up shooting that Chickadee in the pine...Nice ( 1st shot a real winner) captures by the way, I ended up with 4 shots....2 with a Camo Jacket on the right side; then a head popping up in the middle on a third. I did manage to get one keeper though...

ps the 100-400 is always in my pack...

The chickadee shots, especially the first are great Wayne. The Tern in flight is my favourite. I wen't out Sunday to Petries and it was pretty quiet as well. My backyard has been pretty busy though:rolleyes:

I like the first chickadee shot (cool perch!). I also like the tiny little ripples around the male mallard.

All shots were done in some tough light, bud.;) Or not enough light.
Plus, the 100-400 can be quite finicky, not generally a keen lens like your 200.
The collective duck shot is my favourite. Also, with the mallard hen the moment captured is ver good, the duck is well focused on, just that you might have lost some exposure on the way.

I assume you have tried Gary's 400.

Have you ever shot with the 300 f/4 IS ?
