Dave - thanks for your kind words. I know I have a lot to learn! My lenses are currently a 17-85mm and a 70-300 mm. I am planning on getting the 24-105 too. Guess I need to get a sig line together!

The 24-105 is truly an awesome lens. I still find that indoors I need a flash to get pics of the children. Four year olds move to fast for f/4. :) Need more like f/.1 for them. Imagine the lens filter on that one!

The 30D & 24-105 combo just can't be beat. The range is awesome. The weight is awesome. The pictures are awesome.

yeah, i always use flash indoors and your right about the kids moving fast. ive started to use f/4-5.6 more now to get the little angles in focus just as they are turning to run away
I must also admit to being very shallow and using the hood when ever im in public. makes me feel good and gets some good looks.

You are more than welcome. Seems like a good start in lenses for you to get used to the basics and learn the craft. The 24-105 is a lovely lens and I am looking forward to being able to get out and take some quality pics. Also the weight is a perfect balance for the 30D. Makes it so easy to hold and use. With regards to sig line, go to the Offical Gear List and just link to it in your signature.

Have to agree with the guys about using flash indoors though. At f/4 it's not hugely quick but seems to be fine if you can give it a little help with the lighting. I have to admit, I can understand the need for an f/0.1 with kids about!!!:D
