Souwalker Goldmember 1,128 posts Joined Dec 2005 Location: Sydney, Australia More info | I've had this lens since July and only used it meaningfully after I returned from Europe. I thought I had exposure problems but it's user error. My 350D was dropped in Paris so I sent it in to Canon australia for a checkup. Nothing was wrong and all I needed was a sensor clean.

That's what I'm worry about since I have been spoiled by these USM and HSM AF motors

I bought the Tamron 28-75 and originally noticed the noise after using a 28-135 IS USM and 70-200f2.8L previously. After a couple of weeks I guess that I got used to it and because I don't notice it at all any more.

No one could hear the AF sound. I have been really impressed with this lens. I'm glad I bought it over the Canon 17-55, purely on price. Seems a very nice for the money ... for more than the money in fact. I'd be quite happy with it instead of my 17-40mm L. https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1203740

I have a friend who owns the lens and uses it for weddings, so I've had my eye on it for a couple of months now. I may have to check out your retailer.
