Love them, Elisabeth-Ann! You should be able to sell a lot of these to the tourists down there!

Inspired ...... I did not do this quite the same way. I took this picture a while ago before I had my 350D. I like the view point and the reflections but I think I will make time to go back and try it again. Neil

Hey that is pretty cool!! I'm not sure about the angle, I wonder what it would be like with the horizon level. But nevertheless it's VERY effective. Are we having fun yet?

Well, I'm not a very good teacher and I've never actually attempted to create an image like this. But, I HAVE done a lot of layer masking, so to me it makes sense to create different layers and layer masks and to use the paint brush to erase selected areas. I'm sure someone with a little better grasp of the terminology of Photoshop could write a better tutorial than me. I'm guessing the way I'm implying is much less complicated than how you've done it, but it's probably more complicated for me to explain it. Does that make sense?

I know what you mean - sometimes it is easier to do all the steps, but when you have to go back and recall them and write it down, it can confuse you too! In fact, some of the free PS tutorials online I find confusing, and while I am sure I follow them exactly, they often don't work!

Thanks for posting the originals! It couldn't have been an easy task to do that effect to them.

It wasn't really that hard Carol, once I did one, I think it only took about half an hour or so to do each of the others. The most difficult one was the sail boat, trying to work between the ropes at the top of the mast. I used to use a mouse with the conventional rollerball, but have an optical mouse now, which I find to be much better, much more control over finer movements. Plus it doesn't get clogged up with cat and dog hairs:lol:

Pretty neat idea, I think it works well for this photo, took me a few minutes to grasp the entire frame. Thanks for sharing the tips.

Well, didn't sell any of these, although they got admired a lot, but not complaining, other prints did sell, so I guess, "give it time"
