Any word on the Tokina AF 16-50mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX

Any word on the Tokina AF 16-50mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX?????

I might be going with this or the Tamron 17-50 f2.8

We've all read the Atkins preview, but the lenses (3 of them) are to be released one per month starting October of this year, with the 16-50 the last in December. I, too, am waiting for this lens--I really like my Tokina 12-24. These are supposedly the same lenses as Pentax just announced, with a similar release sequence.
Maybe a Christmas present?

Thanks....I guess we will have to wait til December

I hear Pentax version is being released in March of next year, so my guess is around the same time.
Needless to say, I went with the Tamron and am very happy with the lens.

I am soooooo waiting for reviews of this lens. Depending on how well it does, it may change my setup. I would sell my 10-20 and 24-70 and go for the 16-50 Tokina and 50-150 Sigma. 16-150 covered in two lenses at 2.8!!!!! Plus I find that I'm not using the UWA of the 10-20 anyways. It might be a bit more money, but I'd have more reach and 16mm still does landscapes extremely well. Add a 1.4 tc in the pocket and you've got even more reach.

I figured if he meant the release date he would had asked for the release date. Just take him at his word when he asks "Any word".
