Once I get my arse into gear and complete the wedding FAQ i'm working on it'll have more details of what I use and why.

Yeah...ditto that comment... I still have to finish my section as well Tim. See my "How busy are you?" post...lol

Wow mizuno, that's almost the exact kit I use.
Add two 430EX's and pocketwizards and we're like twins.

I DO want to add a macro for ring shots though. Thinking that just getting a tube onto the 70-200 would suffice... or use one of my many FD lenses.

Same here. No point making a new thread about it. Although I appreciate the needle shot of jealousy. :)

lots of stuff goes in the car, but generally the only things used are the 1d2, 16-35 and 70-200 + flash and lighting gear.

well, most of it is on my sig, but my main setup is this:

30D + BG-E2 + 24-70 f2.8L + 580EX (2GB CF with 1GB spare)
350D + BG-E3 + 70-200 f2.8 + 430EX (2GBCF with 1GB spare) (i also bring a spare 430EX as backup, or as a slave to the 580EX)

other stuff in my bag
100mm f2.8 Macro (for ring and flower macro shots)
50 f1.4 and 85 f1.8 for low light no flash churches
15-30 EX DG f3.5-4.5 for wide angle shots

hope this helps!

Um, thank you. I've been getting headaches trying to sort out the appropriate lenses and such these past couple of days. I appreciate it.

The ability to capture the inner beauty of a soul is the essence of a true photographer. For anyone can capture outward adornment, but who can capture the inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in God's sight?

50 1.8
85 1.8

580EX
430EX
Flipit Flash Bracket
Lumiquest 80/20 w/inserts

Lots of odds and ends

Eventually:

No flash bracket some of you?

I personally use

1x 20D + BG-E2
1x 20D + BG-E2 - my girlfriends, handy as a backup, or one 17-40 and one with 85mm 1.8 on for candid shots

580EX, off shoe cord, stroboframe bracket
another 580EX/550/430 - whatever I can get my hands onto :p

10-20 Sigma - reception shots, and surroundings/buildings/gardens
17-40L - group shots, general purpose
50mm 1.8 - for the odd candid
85 1.8 - more candids (now prefer it to my 50mm, as much better quality)

And since my Sigma 70-300 is broken, the last couple of weddings, I've successfully shot with my Sigma 120-300. Long range bridal portraits/candids..

I use the following:

5D with BGE4 and primarily 24-70, 17-40 if i need UWA
30D with BGE2 and 70-200 or 50 f/1.4
580, 2 430's all with omnibounces and adding a lightsphere soon
white lightning x800 for formal pictures
9.5GB of CF cards
plenty of batteries for camera and flash
epson p2000 with two extra batteries
laptop

i think that is pretty much about it

I have most of your kit, minus the 2nd 580 (I'm working on it!) What advice do you have for low lit reception halls, besides bounce? Also, I still have challenges with over exposure in natural sunlight, I have tried bouncing, etc, any advice?
