What good colours Scott, the autumn colours can enhance good photos as shown in the reflection of the water and the warm tones on the duck look good, well done.

Very nice, the true meaning of golden hour light photography exemplified.
I like that broader "habitat" type of bird photography....generous framing, habitat colours picked up.

Incidentally, I think a few of us in GTA by the lake need to form a band of Lake Ontario Wildlifers (LOW).
That would be in response to an apparent increase in aggressiveness by the PIPers (Petrie Island Posse) based in Ottawa......we know who they are, eh ?;)

By contrast, we would not do any backyard photography, no stunt owls and woodpeckers, extensive photoshopping and montage, nor any other trickery Ottawa is notorious for.
We shall do honest-to-godness wild bird photography by the lake, using our camera gear as opposed to our PC's.

Whaddaya say compadre ?

Sounds like a great idea Petkal, but sadly, although inadvertantly, I may have already disqualified myself by posting a shot of a woodpecker
on another thread :D Its not in the bird forum though so perhaps I'm still OK.

Nice warm colors make this a special shot. I also like the ripple patterns in the water around the duck. Nicely done!

Very well caught mimicry in action....the Birchwood Pecker.....my favourite.
Also, the tree bark is very sharp. ;) However, that kind of a shot keeps you in good books with me......I see no feeders, no birdbaths around, understand ?:D

Now, the stunt woodpeckers you can very easily spot. Here is one on loan to me from Gary Fairhead.

A great shot of a female Mallard. I love the texture and colours in the water.
Regards, from one of the PIPers...
