Taken earlier this year in the Lake District simply it's trees growing on scree - it's remarkable where trees will root and take hold.

What a place for a tree to grow! Great capture of it!

Now that is one persistent tree! I like this picture because of the story it tels, but also because of the contrasting color areas and the great sense of scale you have put into it...

I couldn't agree with SanderH more.
The low perspective really makes this image, David.

Now you're not going to believe this
But I have the very same tree in profile. ?!

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

It's a nice composition. The rocks, the tree, the clouds. Good contrast, and I like the colors. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely composition David. Great work again. :D

Presumably, if you and Cameron have shot the same tree, it MUST be very close to a pub

You've eye-balled the picture before but here it is again.
Lots of PS work to give it that "buzzed" look.
Is it the same tree ?!

Trevor, it was bloody miles from a pub. :(

Wrong tree! :p :p :p Took this one the last time we were out together:lol:

And Trevor, apart from being miles away from a pub - not even Cameron would be drinking at 08:10am, I'd only just taken away the bottle he when to sleep with! ;)

Wrong call, David. :p :p :p
I like to relax and unwind with a small beverage after a night shift. :)

So, it's the wrong tree is it ? :o

Here is a link (external link) which will answer your question better than I probably could - thanks for the comment.

I think Cameron was concentrating on another image at the time I took this - it was all the different angles of the scree and the trees with their fresh spring leaves which attracted me - didn't like it after I processed it then looked at it again a few days ago and liked it!:D Pleased that I never delete images!

Thanks to you both for your kind comments.

Like you, David, I never delete an image.
