In my mind, this (along with 85 f1.8) is the closest you can get to an "L" lens (with respect to quality of images) without actually getting one. Lucky enough to have one.

Any one still using this lens. Wondering if there are any focusing issues or concenrs. I am planning to buy lightly used item. I need fast 85mm - 100mm prime to shoot indoor sports with my SL2. I have sigma 105mm macro lens with f/2.8 max aperture. But it is too big and I am not shooting any Macro. I can just sell sigma.

I still have one and use it. Wonderful lens. My very own cheep version of 135L if cropped!!! Was also thinking of selling it to get something with some more range (as you can see from my signature, don't have any zooms), but just couldn't get myself to sell it yet. Good lick with this.

Thanks for the feedback. I bought used one from amazon with like new condition. I am going to sell sigma 105mm macro lens which is too big for SL2.

Got a used copy from amazon. Suppose to be like new. But it is used looking at the dust specs on focusing ring. But it came with box and all the material. Focus motor seems to be making noise when it is hunting (Turning from one end to other). Is it normal for ring usm to make noise when it is focusing from one end to other end.
Thanks

Nop. No noise on mine. Completely silent..And quite fast..I have captured kids in the air while jumping..with age old 5D..no issues..I guess you may want to have it checked out. Others who have the same lens can help out if they are aware of such things.

Thanks for the information. I checked out indoor without much noise. Focus is snap on and silent when it is achieved. But when it hunts, it moves a lot with some noise. Mine makes similar kind of sound,
