Within the next month, I will be ordering the following equipement:

- Canon 30D Body
- Canon 70mm-200mm f/2.8 IS L
- Canon 10mm-22mm f/ 3.5-4.5
- some type of lighting equipement ( priced to be around $1,500 )

Obviously, I will be spending a huge amount of money on all of these things. I'm still a little bit shy of actually buying all these things at once, but I'm sure I won't be regretful as well.

I guess what I'm asking is:

Do you think my desicion is a good one or a bad one?

It's good gear, don't know what you plan on doing with it, but only you can decide if it's worth it or not.

I'm gonna go ahead and say you should look into the Sigma 10-20mm EX instead of the Canon 10-22 :)

Any reason for that?

I plan on shooting wildlife pictures and I'm sure being outdoors, that I am going to want a pretty wide-angle as well.

great gear...and the good thing about good gear is you can usually get a good price for it if you decide to part with it....especially when it comes to the lenses you mentioned. Body and lighting will lose a bit more, but not so bad. No matter what, if this is what you want to do with your money, and photography makes you happy....then it's money well spent. Many of us are very concerned about money and this and that, but in the end, if you're not spending your money on clothing/food/shelter, what better thing to use it for than for somethign that makes you happy and can be considered art. GO FOR IT! also, you can always buy used (I buy almost everything used) and save quite a few bucks. The rebates are nice but they take a LONG time and sometimes don't ever come (canon is notorious for it's horrible rebate program). Plus, buying used supports other camera junkies on these forums. Watch the buy/sell page here and on fredmiranda.com and you're bound to find some great bargains.

I think you have made great choices (but if you check my signature I'm in no place to disagree :D) My only comment would be that you will need something longer if you are serious about wildlife, so buy a 1.4X for your 70-200 while you start saving for a 400mm lens!
