Hi guys
Pl. check the following links (sorry for not linking photos) i.e. Sigma 70-300 APO version sample pics of macro.

http://www.photosig.com …s/viewportfolio?id=145010 (external link)

http://www.photosig.com …s/viewportfolio?id=150393 (external link)

These photos are so good that I start doubting whether they are from same lens or other?

Does Sigma 70-300 APO has that good micro capability???

Regards,
Mukund

Yes those shots are easily possible with this lens. It got great macro ability. although its not true macro (1:1) but still handy.

Here is one from me:

I found that it's macro ability is really a strong point when I owned this lens. Here are two I took with my 70-300 APO (now I use a 50mm with extension tubes for macro).

The macro feature with this lens is quite useful and great fun.

Someone took this one with the Siggy APO DG Macro. Very impressive!

Put some extension tubes on it and you can get around 1:1 mag.

These were taken with the sigma and tubes:

I'd say go for the Sigma. It is really nice!

Although I am going to be getting a 70-200 F4L, I'm thinking of keeping this lens and getting some tubes for it.

Check out some photos I took with this in macro mode in my gallery (www.jagwire.smugmug.com (external link).) Most of the photos in the flower section are taken with this lens in macro mode, check the exif info though, if it's inbetween 200-300mm it's from this lens.
