I am thinking the vast white sky and reflection in the water are too distracting for this pic. I liked the way the image tapered to the right. Am I right about the sky?

The white sky really spoils what is otherwise a nice composition. Was there any sky detail on the day? For instance, could you have used an ND grad filter to retain some sky detail?
