If you can take the Sigma and the Tameron, if not the Tameron would be my choice. Husband is a classic car fanatic (we have a 1970 Challenger RT convertible) so I've been to more than my share of car shows and I always have a camera with me. Up until recently I was shooting most of them with the kit lens and the results were great.

Actually I am in Pismo beach right now...that is where the car show will be this week-end ! Right in the downtown area by the pier! About 200 miles south of SJ

So glad to meet another SJ'ian...

If there are going to be a lot of people there, I'd vote for the Sigma - just so you can get close enough to the cars without everybody walking in front of you ruining the shot.

Take both the Sigma and Tamron. If you do not... You will be seeing shots you are missing because the other is at home...

Thank you all for your opinions...What I did was to take just my 10-20 sigma and was able to get all the photos I wanted with it!

Due to a recent injury and a rotator cuff tear ( and pain ) I wanted to limit the amount that I carried !

Here is a sample of what I took...

Glad things worked out well for you. :D

Great shots are like great parking spaces... if you're not quick, it's gone!

If only one lens, I would bring the wide, its one of those things that youd rather sin by having it than by omission, you know the commercial of the kid hitting their forehead and saying I should have had a V-*, same analogy here UWA is the way to go.

Thank you both...it really was the only way to go!

I knew the wide angle would be good for distance shots, but didn't expect it to be good for close-ups too!
