I'd like her face to be a little brighter in the first one imho, perhaps a bit of fill flash... very nice use of DOF in the second Gear Listhttp://www.codastudios.com.au

I blew the exposure on the brighter one and couldn't decide if I thought that her skin tone was too blah in this one. I knew I'd get an opinion here

I love the highlights in the background. I also like the way the tree branches turned a bluish hue. Sometimes a little CA is a good thing.

My SWAG (scientific wild-assed guess) on the first shot is the white and bright colors in her sweater confused the E-TTL metering enough to give you not quite enough fill. I've seen this sort of thing happen often enough. It's a fantastic shot but I think it needs to be brightened up a bit. The second one is flippin' spectacular. I wonder if she'll ever get tired of posing for you. I sure hope not! The backlight killed it more than anything and I was just too lazy to take a proper reading so I bracketed a few shots. I either had too bright or not enough flash. I liked the pose with this one so I went with it.
