I got the body + 18-55mm kit lens for $739 + shipping here (external link) (butterflyphoto), but of course it's gone down to $719 after only a couple of weeks.

Elsewhere I also bought the grip and a spare battery since the grip holds 2, a cheap CP filter, 2GB Sandisk CF card.

I still need to get a bag of some sort, a tripod, more lenses, and probably a hand strap.

Bought from Dell with the 10% and 15% discount. Unfortunately they tacked on the sales tax, but the total still ended up being cheaper than any other merchant. Of course I had to wait a month to receive my camera, and it was sent via DHL which I don't trust.

I also took advantage of the Sears price tag and had Futureshop do my price match - they also stuck by their policy of beating the price at a 10% difference of the cost, and thus it went from $1099 to $850 (Sears price), a difference of $250, so 10% of that equals an additional $25 dollars off, and so I got it for $825 CAD :)

That's the XTi with kit lens.
