I only ever seem to have time to read occasional posts on here. Love that image though. It always rains when I go to the Lake District!

Thanks Linda. My visit (5 or 6 weeks back) was the first real time for me, so I got lucky with the weather in that it didn't rain until later in the day.

Very nice shot. I love the lead-in of the wall. The composition feels a little open on the right and could use something to pull the eye back in from the edge of the frame.

Thanks Lester, and a good bit of feedback. There wasn't anything (apart from more water), but what sort of thing would you ideally have in mind? :)

It's a lovely shot John, set in a lovely part of the Lakes. Did you manage any shots of the waterfalls just down from Blea Tarn as you walk towards to the River Brathay? Some really good shots to be had on that part of the walk!

No idea, not a critisim just analysis. Often one can't get ideal compositions.

In this situation, if possible, perhaps having the wall on the right and using that and the trees to the left might have have given a balanced lead into the pictures and the mountains. That option may not have been open to you of course.

Thank you David. I'm afraid not as we didn't know there were any there. After taking these shots, we just headed back to the car and further north.

I had a look at my other shots, and there was this one which might be a better composition:

Wow John that's nice, the fence balances things well, I also like the grass lump in the forground.
