Well these seem to be acceptably sharp

200mm f1.8 at f2.0 83k (external link)

135mm f2.0 at f4.0 98k (external link)

100% center crop of the above image 106k (external link)

all the best

BearSummer

Dude, totally not sharp. I've seen more sharpness on a ball-bearing.:p

Dude,

those wet things in the front of your head are called eyes, things will appear much sharper if you open them once in a while. :p Having said that walking round with them closed lets you find all the sharp things in your local environment.

Yup appropriately sharp BareSummer just like they should be ... not hard edged 'cutouts' as many USM'd 'sharp' images appear to be. Look around you people and notice how much of the real world is not razor sharp ;-)a Ease back on your USM.

Thanks,

nothing spoils a good picture faster than to much USM. Trouble is that it seems to be the vogue to sharpen a picture to death and then some.

Don't say   .
When the heck are you going to test that 14L ?
Where's the hold up ?
I'd really like to see some real good (and not neccessarily "insanely sharp") images taken with the lens.
Judging by the apperances from my end, you and that other collector pall of ours seem to be just sitting on it.;)
