Good for you Snir son. Respekt. Looking forward to seeing some real interesting shots from you, but truth is I'm not sure if this lens can shoot anything but Ducks and brats  be interesting to see if you can get it to work with more interesting stuff.

Yous silly hoots;)
I'd like to see one of those mid range "here-is-your-monthly-bonus-lens" Sigma astigmatics get this kinda shot.
Mwuahahahahahah:lol:

Dave, even though i understand where you are coming from, i think that this comment is uncalled for. if you look at my gallery, you will see that i am the last person to be duck shooting to prove sharpness and crap like that. i do portraits and tons of wildlife and many other things and i never buy a lens just to say that i have an L or crap like that. if you do a search under my name, you will notice that unlike some people, i post tons of images (landscape, birds, some macro, people etc..)

thanks

Snir

I'm brutally honest. On my local group I'm called Simon Cowell.
:) yea, sorry to rain on the parade. This may most likely be operator error, so I'd go test it out more.

you are not raining on my parade in any way.... i like the lens so far so it is all good :)

here are a few more test shots from 2 minutes ago. i was about to go out and do some night shooting but the wife decided to stay home. as punishment, i have decided to make her my testing subject ;) again, all shots are straight out of camera Jpegs and this time, no 100% crops, just regular shots.

i think that the bottom line is that if all you care about is focus tests, 200% crop sharpness and stuff like that, this lens might not be "all that and a bag of chips". HOWEVER, if you want a versatile lens, fast focus, great color, and just a lens that will perform in "real life", i really like. next on the agenda is to use this lens for a few weeks and see how this range fits my needs. if i find out that i find this range lacking and that i need something longer, it will be for sale and i will pick up a 70-200 2.8 instead :)

[QUOTE=blonde;2116548]the tests are not scientific by any means but since i don't normally shoot in a lab or only shoot batteries, this real life test is all the matters to me.quote]

I love that statement. This seems to escape so many people on many different lenses.:D

The best zoom I have used so far! I really love it.. Here is a 100% crop unproccessed except to open in bridge and change to 8 bits to save for jpg from today.
