... with a view like this! These were both taken from my 8th floor office. Luckily our building is on the top of a hill so we have terrific views.

This used to be a horse farm, but they have turned it into a winery. The house at the top of the hill belongs to Michael J. Fox, but I've never seen him (even with my longest lens!)

This one is taken to the southeast, towards Boston.

C&C appreciated!

I'm going to need the address and HR Director's name so that I can send my resume. I'm not seeing anything like that out of my window. ;)
Lovely colors Becca and well captured.

Becca, the first picture looks like a good candidate for the "model" look (blurring effect to make the DOF look tight).

Here's a reference thread if you don't know what I mean:

Is this only a crop from the first one? This looks awesome.

I cropped it so that the focus was more on the buildings and then everything behind the buildings to give it that "model train" feeling. See the link JT posted above for some good examples of this. Glad you liked it!

Wow, those are great, especially the first one and the "model train effect". That is one fine view. I am sure it is distracting at times, but what a great way to refresh your brain before going back to work!

Becca, I checked the model train effect site and my understanding is that he used a TiltShift lense for the effect. How did you do yours? I presume in Photoshop?

YES! That looks awesome, Becca. Your crop is pretty effective, too.

Yes, I tried to create the same effect in Photoshop. I cropped it to bring the buildings into more prominance and then added a duplicate layer and applied a lens blur (I don't remember exactly what the settings were). The I used the eraser tool to erase the blurred layer over the buildings and foreground. I had never seen that technique before, but after looking at the examples in the link, I gave it a try. Always fun to try something new!
