Would this even be possible? Seems like someone could make some money... Just think of all those medium range primes and zooms that you can already handhold becoming handholdable at 2X with IS in the TCon.

Secondly, I'm not sure on this, but I think IS is customized for each lens regarding which element moves, etc. Thirdly, prices will have to shoot up to around $800 minimum for the IS version if it's possible. Lastly, Canon already has IS options for focal lengths from 24mm and up and the medium range primes can let in enough light that most of the time it's not necessary to add IS (and a lot more cost to each lens). Great shots are like great parking spaces... if you're not quick, it's gone!

It could be insanely expensive..I wouldn't care. The benefit would be great. However, no doubt this would usher in a whole new line of lenses. Mac users swear by their computers. I've got a feeling it's the rear set which would make a combined TC/IS unit at least slightly feasible... 40D, 16-35L F2.8, 24-70L F2.8, 70-300mm IS, 100mm F2.8, 85mm 1.8, 50mm 1.8, Elinchrom D-Lites, Mid Octa, 580 EX
