Fair enough Alec but the Tamron lens you had was not the 17-50 or 28-75 f2.8 (which is well regarded as very sharp lens) as I said it is sharper then my 17-40L which is sharp ;) There maybe some dodgy Tamrons out there but I can assure you there are some dodgy Canons and Sigma's also ;)

Peatoire its coming from Hong Kong so you run the risk of paying import tax etc. Contact Kerso on here, he is easily found I am sure he can be at least as cheap and you dont have to worry about VAT, import tax etc ;)
Cheers Ricky

I am also selling my sweet 17-40mm L, which is a proven good copy in mint condition for £375 or so, including one of Jessops very decent quality £50+ CP filters. Both bought this year. Selling as need something a tad longer for travel so just bought a 17-70mm! You want new then I can recommend Kerso above. A fine gent indeed.

I'd love to get ahold of that 35/2.4, but it seems I've missed out on manual focus primes.

The prices have gone up quite a bit and now it's just too late to try and get something for a reasonable price. 35/2.4 runs for close to 200

I might as well get the canon AF prime instead.

Oddly though, my sharpest lens is the Canon 50mm f/1.8. It's not even a USM lens, and weighs in at a mere $75. But the quality is unmistakable. So sometimes you get what you pay for, sometimes you don't.

There's nothing like a prime! On the other hand, I have almost all zooms.?! Go figure.

They are going for around the £60-70 mark in UK but supplies in Europe are much more plentiful. Adam* was selling his a while back for a fair price. Wouldn't cost much to ship. I'll probably use mine tomorrow for the POTN World wide Photo Day Challenge. I like to take each of my MF's out every now and again. I really enjoy it more somehow than the L/USM almost P&S style you can easily fall into  The 2.4 and the 135mm 3.5 are the two lenses I have held onto longest. The overall IQ is just so attractive.
