Did you forget the hydrochloric acid application to the lens and all its plastic parts? Come on now. I'm very busy at work and you're just wasting my time. In fact, place all lenses and cameras in a bucket of this acid. Once it's done bubbling, they'll all be good as new.And Peachman, if you're gonna give a recipe, you can't go leaving out the main ingredient. ![]() mark Well, I didn't want to be offensive...but the secret is mediteranian goat urine......(med because of the diet of olives which pass on the oil into the solution which helps lubericate the parts) ..about a cup of this pored in during the rinse cycle and yor're golden! The "eyes" have it !

Peachy, that's so wrong ! Some weather sealed lenses become so only when coupled to Series 1 camera bodies, such as the 1DsMkII. Just set it in there for a couple of hours and not only is it spotless, but there's even zero lens flare under the worst imaginable conditions, and CA and residual barrel/pincushion distortion seem to be gone too. At one of the first POTN New York meets, we had the pleasure of learning yet another lens cleaning method. Sumozebra (come to think of it, where has he been?) dunked one of his lenses in a very dirty pond and let it lay there at the bottom for at least 15 minutes while getting some staff members to fish it out. It had a goldfish swimming in it when it resurfaced in a net.

I have a 120 pound dog with low hanging ones. I'll let you know tonight if there's any smudges, fingerprints or scratches. mark What would be more alarming is how fingerprints got there in the first place. That would mean someone has been playing with your dog in more ways than one.

You have to be careful with using the shoe-goo...it picks up the metal filings that lay in my camera bag after I use a bastard file to clean the pine pitch off the lens barrel deposited there when I have been stocking moose thru the big pine forests and swamps of Maine.....and when on the shoe -goo, it rubs against the lenses the that have been thrown in together in the pillowcase I carry them all in...
