Agreed ... our esteemed Duck shooting friend Calikobloke used that same 'oiled finger' effect on a flying pigeon shot (or something, couldn't quite tell!) that he displayed here multiple times. His compassion, in ensuring we all get chance to view such art, is a lesson to us all. The nuclear 'glow of life' he captured, at least on my very expensive calibrated studio monitor, was truly a masterful rendition. Even Petkal would struggle to beat such an effect, despite his advanced experience in Lomography. Bra-vo!

Oh yes oh great photographer

Jimmy, at your age you seem to have a formidable faith in your mind's presence.

Petkal,

Actually it is my keen sense of smell that sees me through although I will admit to a couple of mixups with the kit lens

Jim -- I keep the Leica D-Lux 7 in the Glove Box just in case!

Thats funny, its already sold more than your gear is worth, apparently a great exposed Red Tail Hawk Shot has some value. Must be nice up in the clouds :p

At the risk of looking like a fool, I will actually answer the original question with tongue flapping freely and no where near my cheek.

FYI, All lens pens seem to be made by the same company (external link), they all just get rebranded. ;)
When eclipse failed me miserably, I used my "hakuba" lens pen on the 200mm :) Worked like a charm.

BTW, how do you clean your camera's CMOS? Take it with you when you have a dental appointment...... they can do some good clean air jetting on it.

I also use a lens pen for that, if the air bulb fails. :)

(I know,. I'm no fun at all)

This question is for L collectors of some stature, like Master Belmondo, AeroSmith, CoolToolGuy, Unstoppable F Jojo, BearSummer, SSIM, TomF...:D

I am of no staure like 99.999% of the users at POTN so here is what I do.

I hawk a loogy (spit) on my lens, take my T shirt and rub rub rub. Because I am of no stature I must be some sort of trailer park boy.

(Not serious Petkal just messin with ya )

No worry Chris, messing with me is like peeing into a lake in order to make it wet.

I keep all my lenses in their original boxes. They are then hermetically sealed in a Hellman's Mayonaise Jar on Funk & Wagnall's porch. Only in this manner do they stay as clean as when they left Canon's dirt room in which they are manufactured.

The only time they are opened is by Carnak the Magnificent. If a fingerprint or speck of dust has the gall, the chutzpah, the temerity to attack the front or inside element of any of my lenses, I just throw them away and buy a new one. That is truly the finest method there is.

Yes, you are of course right, Mark. Nay, that's the only method, Mark.

Mark, when you get to whatever amount of posts you need to have, in order to choose your name, you MUST choose Carnak the Magnificent!

Sorry, no good. Sounds too much like "Canuck the magnificent". We do not want him. He'd be a disgrace to our national hosery.

One more question, Cyber.
Do you also use the lenspen to clean the mount side glass of your telephotos ?
