Great shots.

A lovely, peaceful scene in the first. It looks like it is miles from any form of civilisation :)

Lovely colours in the second, and good use of the yellow centreline to lead the eye into the picture. It's a shame about the roadsigns as they tend to draw the eye a little too much

This stream in the first picture, originates at a nearby Hickory Run State Park, and runs approx. 7 miles to this point, than further on to pass near by my house...It is within and/on the edge of our Old master planned recreational community...we actually have over 2300 homes here and an additional 1700 empty lots...

The second picture of the road and the stop signs, is the second busiest street in our development...This picture is taken on a Saturday morning...usually, on a typical week day, this road is heavily traveled daily by construction workers in their pick up trucks, heading into this portion of the development...we have over 52 miles of roads within our own community development... most have few signs if any along the road...

I sent this picture to our community main office for documentation... this is how we wish the road to look, all the time... rather than to have speeding pick up trucks on it all day long...

Poconos is a fast growing area..I know every time I'm up at my family's place the traffic is worse. I've stayed at Hickory Run before, great place to camp.

There is a lot of tourism in the area...weekends get bussy...
Things have quieted down a lot, since the summer...Ski season will generate a lot of weekend traffic again...

I plan to post some snow and winter shots, when it happens...

the first one has the sky and water overexposed and maybe also the WB is not optimal IMHO... the second one is better but the 'stop' signal is too evident and seams to be the subject of your photo.. maybe because it is red and capture my eyes... :D

composition is great in both anyway :P

Yea unfortunatly I suppose I add to it. I'm only up at my family's place a few times a year. The traffic light at Marshals Creek is a nightmare to get through at the wrong time of day...

I'll get that stream shot right eventually...it's just down the street from me and will be the subject of my photos often...

I hear you on the stop sign...Just this one time though;
the stop sign is there on purpose...I submitted this photo to our front office for publication...drivers keep rolling through those stop signs at up to 20 mph...However, I appreciate the feed back...

I personally would prefer a more natural setting too...It was just a few hours too late for our fall foliage colors on our streets...the previous night's frost, heavy rains and wind changed the colors overnight...

Ah, the infamous Rt. 209 and Rt. 402 intersection...well back in the 1960's it wasn't that way...It got bad in the 1980's...I've worked around there, on and off for decades...Rank USA (an international resort company) was there recently for the last 15-20 years...You know, the bypass is finally being built, after nearly 15 years in planning...it possibly, will be finished in a couple of years.

Thanks scribble,

This is an important photo to me, because of it's proximity to our community recreation areas and stream...

A large construction company is suing our community, to gain access with extra heavy trucks, year round...Presently, this road is the main thoroughfare for extra heavy trucks, 9 months of the year...It's closed to heavy trucks during the winter months...We pay for paving these roads, as they easily crumble during the freeze/thaw of winter months...

Therefore I sent the photo to our main office for access by our attorney...

Thanks for the encouragement...

I hear you Frank Hollahan,

I appreciate the feedback...My intention here, with this stream is to use a Circular Polarizer filter...a tripod...select other sunny days...maybe get a lot of photos after some snow storms...

It's a nice setting, near me...

I'll be shooting in RAW from now on...hope to improve on the colors, exposure and sharpness...

Also, hope to try a time lapse water flow shot or two too...

Lastly, two new lenses will help my choices for acquiring the best images...I really stretched the budget on these...got two L lenses...Now it will be a long while before another addition...

On the wish list now, is a nice, wide angle L prime or zoom....

I've heard the word bypass for up there for nearly as long as i've been going up there...I'll believe it when I can drive it..
