Heres a couple of shots I took Friday from Snowdonia. The weather forecast was supposed to excellent for that day and I had a long hill walk planned. I did the walk but the weather was naff and light was just grey and no good. I had to settle for a couple of waterfall shots for the day.

Hope you like.

Handheld with nifty fifty at F22 in a little mountain pool the subject was a little bigger than my hand.

This one was with my shiny new canon 17-40L which I had been dying to try out in the hills to no avail :'(

Although the expossure in the 1st shot is spot on...its noy in the 2nd,the water is a bit too bright,a wee touch of underexpossure would help lots.
Apart from that, the 2nd one is lovely.

#1 I could do without. I like #2, but you should crop out that hot spot on the very upper left edge - you'd lose a very small portion of your frame. I love the light coming in from that portion though.

I love the second picture too. I am a newbie here just trying to learn little about taking great pictures of my kids an family. So when Dv2004 said a little bit of under exposure
would help alot. What is actually meant by that? Is that something you can adjust on your camera or fix it on your computer? Sorry I am new an just trying to learn ,an I don't know if I don't ask. thanks Lfwisener

#2 is great. You composed it well. I did find the tree line a bit bright but I like the way the sun shines through.

Thanks for the comments peoples.

I think I liked the first one so much because it was the first time I had seen that effect on water and it appealed to me. No doubt you guys have seen it a million times and it's old school and once you take that away from it then.... :)

I may have look at what I can crop of the top left and see what I get. Unfortunatly I couldn't get closer at the time and my lenses range wouldn't reach :(

Like the second, and agree with the slight crop, and like Dimitri, the whites are just a tad hot, therefore a slight underexposure would have improved.
