Hello,

I just purchased my first "real" camera, a 30D, a couple weeks ago, and its been a steep learning curve. I've been shooting only in manual, and its been a LOT of fun learning by myself (with the help of good books).

This is a sunset shot from a local pond/lake a couple days ago. I'm just wanting to finally post a shot on this website! Pardon the framing and caption, I'm new to that also and was just playing around, and also not sure how much compressing it down for the 100k limit will affect quality.

Anywho, here we go..please be easy, I'm an absolute newbie :)

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

Good first image, not sure about the frame?
You have some sensor dust spots (I think) in the blue of the sky, and the sky top right is noisy.

Look forward to more of your work.

Thanks for the input :)

I believe the spots you see are actually a spiderweb with a few things caught in it, if you're talking about the upper left of the wooden frame. I almost took them out in photoshop but didn't want to mess around too much. I got some pics of the web itself but it didn't turn out the way I had planned.

About the noise, would that just be due to the low light?
