My rebate dreams are just that........dreams. Too many other things that I have to buy. The washing machine is about to go out and the hot water heater is probably not far behind. vmad I am just thankful that the 1.4x TC I bought 2 weeks is not on the rebate list. I would have been pissed.

check the canon website under promotions

Sorry, I can't get my head round this. I can't see any mention of double rebates anywhere on the UK promotions page... The promotions listed on the site appear to be the same ones as usual. Am I missing something? There're a few things I'm looking to buy, I'd like to take advantage of this if possible...

I posted a link for you...the rebate form is the same for all countries involved.

Canon is pleased to announce the launch of two promotions available to purchasers of its EOS 350D, 30D and 5D DSLR cameras: the Canon Extra Promotion – a cash back offer on selected lenses and accessories; and the CompactFlash® Promotion - a CF card available, at no additional cost, for new registrants on CANON iMAGE GATEWAY[1]. Both promotions are offered for a limited time.

Canon Extra Promotion
The Canon Extra Promotion rewards purchasers of selected lenses and accessories (that are compatible with Canon’s EOS 350D, EOS 30D or EOS 5D) with cash rebates. The sum of all available rebates is over £800. Products available under the terms of the offer include EF lenses, extenders, a Speedlight flash and binoculars.

The voucher booklet, available online at www.canon-europe.com/2006promotions (external link) or in the EOS 350D, EOS 30D and EOS 5D camera boxes, lists the selected products and their cash back values. Vouchers may be redeemed by sending a copy of the proof of purchase of the relevant participating product[2], along with the barcode, appropriate voucher[3] and completed Canon Extra Promotion application form to the Canon Promotion Centre.

Full details of the promotion can be found online at
www.canon-europe.com/2006promotions (external link), including the Promotion Centre address, downloadable application form and applicable Terms and Conditions.

Cheers for the info, but I still seem to be missing something fairly basic. I can see that the rebates are there, but I see no mention of double rebates... these seem to be the same ones that have been running for some time. I'm feeling pretty stupid right now, someone please cure my ignorance!

70-200 f2.8 L (non-IS)
24-105 f4 L IS

:D

That will be quite a nice combo of lenses for your kit.

My dream (actually, more of a pondering than a dream... don't really dream about lenses and cameras... :) ) became reality today too...

Ordered from Allens Camera:

5D w/grip ($600 rebate)
MT-24 Dual Macro Flash ($60 rebate)
TC-80N3 Timer/Cable Release
and a few other odds and ends

Will have fun tomorrow night with this and my 100mm Macro.

damn...such a baller...

I don't think I will be making any more large purchases until next years rebate...and then I will be jumping on a wide lens 10-22 or a walk around.

Thanks Convergent-

5D huh? NICE. Thats why I didn't get the 17-55 2.8 IS (well, aside from not having any rebate), I plan to upgrade someday (years from now..) and figured I will keep investing in non EF-S lenses.....

Good luck with the 5D!

Bryan
