Congratulations!

Going in tomorrow with my spreadsheet to see if my local store will match. If not, I will order online.

New toys coming are listed below. :)

Got 'em! Dropped by the camera store this afternoon. Canon 5D, 17-40L, 100 2.8 Macro and a Sigma 17-70 2.8/4.5 for the XT to boot.

Changed my sig, too! :D

Will the rebates affect the resale value of used equipment for the next few months? It would be nice to see used stuff get down to the level it should be at.

It caused me to lower the used price of a lens that I sold yesterday by $50. I would think it would be hard for people to sell a 5D for $2500 used when you can buy one new for several hundred less than that... so yes... the used prices should come down, at least in the US.

Hoping to get the 5D and 430EX. With that combination, I pay $300 less than what the 5D costs without the rebate. YEAH! Hope to get it by December.

Grrrrr! I just found out that my Sunday order to B+H (Canon 30D) was "on hold" pending "verification.":evil::evil:

So, I have lost two days on shipping and now I hope that it will get here by Friday.

Lesson learned on B+H, check on your order and if it says "processing" for a status then call them and find out what is going on...bummer :evil::evil:

Looks like I'll be ordering a 430ex in the next few days. I've been putting off buying one, just for this (even though it's only $10 rebate).

My plans have been put on hold temporarily. I was ready to plunge in deep and get the following:

5D
24-70 f/2.8 ISL or 400mm f/5.6 L
580EX

but now that I see that the rebates are good through Januaray I am going to wait, pay off what I still owe on my 70-200 f/2.8 ISL, 42" plasma and my new computer and then dive in. I know that this is the opposite of what this forum normally does to your spending habits, but I've finally kicked some sense into my brain. Despite knowing that the money is and will be there to cover all these things, I want to do things one at a time.
