where in the lakes

im from wigan in the north of england. im looking for the best places to shoot autumn landscapes.
im within about an hours drive from the lake district, north wales, yorkshire dales derbyshire .
i keep doing loads of research but thought it would be better to get some info off people on here on the best places to go.
plenty of wooded areas with lots of colour

Have you seen the Forestry Commission - Autumn Colours web site? Perhaps that may give somewhere near to you.
