Got back from a trip to Italy the other day and got some of the better pictures up on my website and thought I'd share a few with you. None of these are processed yet except to convert them from RAW to JPG so they'll display.
Here is a shot of the Santa Maria del Fiore Campanile (Giotto's Bell Tower) in Florence. I didn't climb it, all though I should have and could have gotten some good shots of the city.

Here is the Leaning Tower in Pisa, unfourtunatly it was raining in Pisa the day we were there and the shots I got of the Tower leaning got corrupted probably due to the rain. I got some shots of the Tower with the Duomo that I'll try and crop out the Tower, but who knows if they'll look good or not.

Here is a shot of the family checking out another church, this time in Lucca. A beautiful city which I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Italy.

Now for my favorite part of the trip, Cinque Terre. Got to hike part of the trail and it was spectactular!! The 5 small villages were very picturesque and I would highly recommend visiting all of them.
Here is a shot of the Gigante in Monterosso al Mare:

I took about 1400 pictures the whole 11 days and the camera (30D) worked like a champ! The batteries died on me while going through the Capitoline Museum in Rome but since I had an extra set it was no problem. The 17-40mm f/4L was what I used through the whole trip and only pulled out the 70-200mm f/4L twice for a total of about 10 minutes. I left all my other lens at home and didn't really miss them. Although I could have used a wider angled lens a few times. Luckily I carried plastic 'Zip-Loc' baggies with me as I had to use one to put the camera in in Pisa as it was raining. Camera still got a little wet and it is evident on some of the shots but it wasn't too bad. I just looked kind of funny walking around with a large plastic bag hanging in front of me. Now the fun begins as I start to process the pictures and clean some of them up. I've trimmed it down to around 500 +/- good shots out of the 1400. It can probably be trimmed down even farther but I'll do that as I process them. I'll post some more later as I get them processed, this is just a taste of Italy.
Enjoy, and C&C is always welcome.
