I just started out photography not too long ago and am looking at buying a telephoto lens but I have no idea which one's the best for my skill level. Anyway I'm currently have 3 choices in mind. Someone please help me with this!!! Thanks!! LOL!!

Tamron Zoom Telephoto AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Autofocus Lens for Canon EOS

Sigma Zoom Telephoto 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro Autofocus Lens for Canon EOS

Canon Zoom Telephoto EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III USM Autofocus Lens

They're lenses within my student budget...all priced below 200USD

Any advice? The lens all seem so similar, I dont know which to choose from! Help:confused:!!!

In the end it is allways going to be your choice.

I have the Sigma and chose it because of price (less than the Canon where I live), warranty (7 years where I live), Capability to also do Macro (albeit 1:2) and the sharpness compared to the Canon (slightly better according to most people).

I have seen some posts that the Tamron is the sharpest of the group but cannot vouch for it.

I am still happy with my Sigma and would choose it again.

The tamron is sharpest of these lenses at the long end only.At other focal lengths it's a touch less sharp.
Overall the tamron is a great choice if you can cope with it's slow focus speed.

The canon has the fastest focus and is sharp up to about 200mm.Above that it's not quite good enough to satisfy most users.

The sigma is the allrounder of the group.Decent sharpness (soft at the long end but useable) and reasonably fast focus. It feels a little better built than the others

Another Sigma 70-300 APO owner here, very happy with it! But no experience with the other lenses.
