The question from this thread has been taken care of and no longer needs advice. Thanks everyone for writing.

Good gear does not make great photos, you and your vision do, the gear just helps a bit.

Options that come to mind:
- Don't tell the magazine they're on the web. They might not care.
- Tell the magazine and hope for the best.
- Ask the guy to keep the bulk of the photos private until you've been published.
- Don't give him the images until you've sent the article to the magazine. You'll have to be very nice when you ask/tell him this so as not to spoil your reputation.

Probably should have been explained before going out, but I would try to explain to hiim that the reason you were there was for the magazine articel and they are the ones paying for the work, so they get first shot at any publication. You will be happy to make them available to him, as you said you would, however, the magazine has to publish the photos first due to your agreements with them.

One other option would be to offer him a couple now that you know will not be used in the magazine, then you can supply the rest after the others are published.

If you can get him certain shots and the magazine others until they publish then provide him with the ones from the magazine that should work. Just make sure the mag doesn't want an exclusive.

On shooting sports...If you see it happen then you didn't get it.
