A couple of shots here from a week up at Hume Lake, CA. Both shots were taken within an hour of each other. Used a G6 and 0.6 soft ND Grad for both...

Do you mean something like this?
I was trying for some foreground interest, with the frost on the grass, but I do understand what you're saying. Maybe the grass should be cropped out altogether, as now it seems a bit distracting...

I LOVE Hume lake. When did you go up? The first is my favorite, I love the mist on top of the lake. I am going up this winter to take some shots in the snow. Do you work there, or just a camper, or parent?

It's a great place! The mist was pretty cool to see - within 15 minutes it was gone.
We were just up there for 3 days, playing in a band at the camp. It was my first time, but I'm excited about possibly returning soon, and spending some more time in the area. Kings Canyon seems like a pretty scenic place.

You should have some great opportunities for photographs in the snow! They say it's beautiful in winter!

we went toi hume lake in july when we went up to bearskin meadows for a week ... I love the area .. great shots btw the crop with no grass is fantastic really cxaptures the beauty .. Greg
